A whirlpool of cotton candy
A kaleidoscope of possibilities
One moment sun, the next ablaze with storm,
A dramatic display, fine and dandy
Wading ahead, in between motion and stillness
Oh Melburnian sky, where dreams & emotions fly!
Curtained in its expanse, a myriad moods belie
Shades of blue, Dotted by a flock of geese
In a secret corner, with a colony of gulls they meet
In tweeting company of the rainbow lorikeets,
Storming their way into eternity
A different tapestry each day, like suspended silhouettes
Whites, greys, pinks, oranges and blues
A play of expressions, in its varied hues
Like ‘sky is the limit’;
A palette of platonic platitudes
The trees sway gallantly against the vast canvas
The lowlands and highlands fixated
A halo appears, the light shines bright
The mind wanders, afloat like a dream
In a chosen bubble of a serendipitous stream
Inspired & astounded all the same,
By the woven magic, the divinus skies embrace!

I have always wanted to visit Melbourne!! A ton of my family and friends have gone in the past and would rave about it once they returned. The sky there from all of your photos looks absoutley beautiful, especially the shot of the rainbow. Also the poem included was so nicely written. Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks Sophie for those kind words. You should plan once these lockdowns are over!
Melbourne sky is definitely very pretty. With so many changing colours and the seasons that it goes through, it is a spectacular sight. And what a lovely poem written on Melbourne sky. Loved reading it.
What a wonderful combination of beautiful words and fantastic photography. You really paid great tribute to the city!
What an interesting tribute to the constantly changing Melbourne Sky. So many colours and cloud shows. Such a variety from day to day and day to night.
Wow, a poem. How amazing. What a way to use words to capture the beauty and feeling of a place.
